Perinatal Wellness: Finding Yourself Again

Anxiety is a natural response to stress and a feeling of fear or apprehension about what’s to come. It can be triggered by a variety of factors

What is Post-Natal and Perinatal Wellness?

The transition into parenthood is one of the most profound life changes a person can experience. It is common that the perinatal period (during pregnancy) and post-natal period (after birth) bring about major physical, emotional, and identity shifts for any prospective parents. Alongside the joy of welcoming a new baby, many new parents experience feelings of overwhelm, sadness, fear, or disconnection.

Hormonal changes, sleep deprivation, shifting roles, and new responsibilities can all contribute to mood or anxiety symptoms. Sometimes, these experiences are dismissed as “baby blues,” but when distress persists or begins to interfere with daily life, it may indicate a postpartum mood or anxiety disorder (PMAD). These challenges are common — and there are ways to manage them.

Perinatal wellness involves supporting your mental and emotional health throughout this journey — before, during, and after birth. It’s about helping you rebuild a sense of stability, confidence, and connection, both with yourself, and with those around you.
